Entertaiment refers to a variety of activities designed for amusement or enjoyment (1,2). It can range from the personal entertainment of an individual selecting music from an array of pre-recorded products, to the enjoyment of a dinner for two accompanied by a fine wine and appropriate music, to performances for thousands. One example of the power of entertainment is the story of Scheherazade in the Persian professional storytelling tradition, which has inspired several orchestral works by Rimsky-Korsakov and Ravel, a film adaptation by Pasolini, and even an innovative video game.
